A credit is the unit of usage on VideoConduit. Each API call consumes a set number of credits depending on the endpoint. For example, a basic download costs 1 credit, video info costs 1 credit, transcription costs 4 credits, and translation costs 5 credits. See our full credit cost breakdown in the docs.

API requests that require credits will return a 402 error with a clear message showing how many credits you need versus how many you have. Your existing files and data remain accessible. You can upgrade your plan at any time to get more credits immediately.

Yes. You can change your plan at any time from your dashboard. Upgrades take effect immediately — you’ll receive the new credit allocation right away and be charged a prorated amount. Downgrades take effect at the start of your next billing cycle.

Credits reset at the start of each billing cycle. Unused credits do not roll over to the next month. If you consistently need more credits, we recommend upgrading to a higher tier for better per-credit value.

VideoConduit supports downloading from over 1,000 platforms including YouTube, Vimeo, Twitter/X, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Twitch, SoundCloud, and many more. We use the same extraction engine trusted by millions of developers worldwide. If a platform is publicly accessible, chances are we support it.

After signing up, generate an API key from your dashboard. Include it in the Authorization header of every request: Authorization: Bearer vc_your_api_key. Keys can be rotated or revoked at any time. We never store your raw key — only a secure hash.

We target 99.5% uptime for Growth and Business plans backed by an SLA, and 99.99% for Enterprise. Our infrastructure runs on dedicated servers in Europe with redundant workers and automated failover. All API responses include standard rate limit headers so your application can handle limits gracefully.

If a job fails due to a VideoConduit error, your credits are automatically refunded. For billing refunds, we offer a full refund within the first 7 days of any paid plan. After that, you can downgrade to a lower tier or cancel at any time — your plan remains active until the end of the current billing period.
